As mobileSharry is not a credential provider or an access control system. Whether it qualifies as a PIAM solution depends on how it's used. So, what exactly is Sharry – and what do we offer our clients? Let’s take a look!

As mobile access and Wallet-based credentials are still relatively new in the world of access control and security, we wanted to clarify Sharry’s role within the broader ecosystem.

Sharry is NOT a credential provider 🚫

We don’t issue our own mobile credentials. Instead, Sharry is a cloud-based access platform to manage mobile badges from a wide range of leading technology partners – not just HID but also Brivo, Salto, Gallagher, Wavelynx, and others.

What we support:

  • ✅ In-app credentials for iOS and Android
  • ✅ Wallet-based credentials for Apple and Google Wallet
  • ✅ Provisioning through the Sharry workplace app or online via email
  • ✅ Physical badges
  • ✅ ...or any combination of them!

Sharry is NOT an access control system 🔒

We don’t develop our own access control system. Instead, Sharry integrates directly with 20+ of the most trusted systems used by office buildings and enterprise clients, making them work together seamlessly.

  • ✅ For end users:
    Use a single mobile badge to access both the building entrance and your company’s tenant space – even across multiple office locations.
  • ✅ For admins:
    Manage access roles, employee permissions, and badges effortlessly from one unified platform.

Is Sharry a PIAM solution? 🤔

Well, that depends on how you define PIAM (Physical Identity and Access Management) ...

Sharry can be considered part of a PIAM setup when integrated into a broader identity and workflow ecosystem – for example, when your company uses tools like Okta for identity management or ServiceNow for workforce access approvals.

Once the approval flow is complete, Sharry takes over the “last mile” – Let’s say Laurie Moore is onboarded and granted access to the building, office on the 4th floor, and the shared rooftop terrace. Sharry is responsible for provisioning and activating her mobile access so she can enter all approved areas with just a tap of her phone.
